Research has shown that women who eat an average of 1 mushroom per day have half the risk of breast cancer (10 g reduce chances with 64%)

Since turning pink for the first time in October 2010 to help raise awareness of breast cancer during Breast Cancer awareness month, the South African Mushroom Farmers’ Association (SAMFA), Pick ‘n Pay and Yucca Packaging have raised over R600 000.00 to support the valuable work done by breast cancer support group, Reach for Recovery.

And mushroom punnets will again turn pink on Pick ‘n Pay’s fresh produce shelves between October 8 and 28 in support of the fight against breast cancer.
